Drowning Blackfoot River 2006

A few summers ago we got called to a drowning up Blackfoot River Road in the Wolverine area. When we got there, a heart surgeon from Pocatello had already lost his life to the rough waters of the Snake River while kayaking. When we got there his friends had already braved the waters and had pulled him to the side. We helped load him up and carry him to the top of the canyon. These are just some pictures taken that day to show you kinda how things happened.

Class 5 rapids on the Snake River

If you look closly you can see his green kayak, He was forced out of his kayak due to the swift water. The water is moving so fast it is causing his kayak to be jammed against some rocks and logs and standing it straight up.

The next few pictures are of the crew trying to get the doctor out of the canyon.. There was quite a hike back up the hill! They did an awesome job!!
