Pride Days June 14,2008

Over the past few years Bingham County Search and Rescue was asked to assist with the snowmachine races during Blackfoot Pride Days. The divers from our unit will assist when the snowmachines sink, by going and hooking the sleds upto Jet skis using rope. The Skis then pull the sleds into shore while a diver rides them across the bottom to keep them from tipping over. Last year we decided to do a fundraiser in conjunction with Pride days and we made out pretty well. We will be doing one again this year on June 13, so keep your datebooks open!! Enjoy these pictures from last years event!

These are some pictures of the Marine Deputies on the new skis. They are there to pick up the snowmachine rider, as well as haul the sled to shore! They are enjoying it way to much!

At the starting line, all sleds start on the far east side of Jensens Grove. The winner is declared by the first on to the shore on the other side. Each year there are approx 10-15 sleds that sink.

The first of many!

I have more pictures but the computer wont let me post any right now! I will post more later!
